Our Christmas vacation in Park City, Utah was fantastic. We spent a couple days snowboarding and there was 18″ of snow dropped during a huge winter storm on Christmas Day. It was challenging to snowboard in, but we managed to get in a couple runs without too much trouble. The following day had some fantastic powder though
We also visited the Utah Olympic Park. This is where the ski jumping, luge, skeleton, and bobsled events were held during the Salt Lake City Olympic games in 2002.
We were fortunate enough to be there on a day where they were allowing members of the public to ride bobsleds. Our ride was fantastically exciting. We pulled upwards of 5 G’s and attained speeds greater than 80 miles an hour bobsledding down the hand-maintained ice track. The Utah Olympic Park is the only place in the world that lets members of the public ride bobsleds down an ice track. Our driver was a two time Olympic bobsled team coach Pat Brown.
You can check out some photos I snapped with my iPhone before the ride here.
Update: Here are the rest of the photos from the trip:

For my 33rd birthday, Marla and I drove up to Mammoth Mountain, CA with some of our friends (Jen and Sara). It was just a weekend trip, but tons of fun. It was pretty warm, and the snow was a bit icy. Despite this, it was good to get back into practice for our trip to Park City over Christmas. A little ice keeps you on your toes.
I have been on my post-production vacation the last two weeks. At the end of every game I get a two week block of extra vacation to recover from the hectic world of game development. I have been laying pretty low… mostly doing errands and a lot of catch up on games, movies, and television.
We are spending Christmas snowboarding in Park City, UT. We are going to be there for 5 days, and are also excited to check out the Olympic stuff they have there (from the 2006 Winter Games). Marla and I are big time Olympics fans, so visiting another host city is a big deal for us. If there are photos worth seeing from the trip I will post them.
Happy Holidays!

Shortly after the wedding Marla and I honeymooned in Norway and Iceland. We visited Oslo and Lillehammer in Norway, and Reykjavik in Iceland.
